LinkedIn has been named the UK’s number one ‘Superbrand’ in the recruitment sector.
The result was confirmed in a ‘UK’s Best Brands’ survey conducted by Superbrands, which evaluated over 1,600 companies across 63 categories.
LinkedIn was judged against the three core factors – quality, reliability and distinction. As part of the evaluation, it was weighed up against other key players in the recruitment industry with the aim of gaining a broad and accurate view of the market as a whole.
Commenting on the announcement, Cheesecake Recruitment’s Head Greg Harmer told Recruitment Grapevine: “LinkedIn has become an invaluable tool to all recruiters. Whilst there are a few technical snags with the search facility (clearly never written by programmers that understand the recruitment world) there is a lot to like.
“I find it almost to be a mixture of job board and CRM which is relatively user-friendly, however, with the ever-increasing Facebook-esque content, I do wonder how long it will be before an alternative ‘professional’ platform is created,” he concluded.
Recruiter Claire Brindle,Managing Partner at Smart 10, shared: “Recommendations and referrals allows us to secure new suppliers and contacts when looking to for a new service or product – we have found this incredibly useful in recent times and have a number of new partnerships as a result of LinkedIn.”
The research was managed by The Centre for Brand Analysis (TCBA) in partnership with Dynata – a leading data research company. It followed a voting process involving 2,500 UK business professionals, further supplemented by an expert council comprising 24 senior business-to-business marketing leaders.
“It’s been another big year for LinkedIn and it’s great to see that the team’s hard work and innovative approach has been recognised,” added LinkedIn Senior Director Ngaire Moyes. “More than ever, LinkedIn is an increasingly diverse community of people who come together to help one another out; where connections help members take their next career step or help them to create opportunities for others.
“This recognition is really something that should be shared with our members, the people leads who are shaping the workforce of the future, the talented recruiters and marketers who are growing their businesses through our platform, and – of course – the brilliant team at LinkedIn who care so passionately about our mission.”
