Multimedia University (MMU) is one of Malaysiaʼs
leading private universities, as a pioneer in the areas
of information communication technology (ICT) and
creative multimedia in the education industry.

First established in July 1996, the name Multimedia University took hold in March
1997, when its parent corporation TM Berhad was given the enormous task of
establishing a new campus in Cyberjaya that would supply the Multimedia Super
Corridor (MSC) with superior quality knowledge workers.

MMU currently has more than 15,000 students across
its three campuses in Cyberjaya, Johor and Melaka
with more than 1,000 international students from more than 60 countries.

The university pioneers education that focuses
on cutting edge technology, producing professional
knowledge workers with an entrepreneurial,
research-centric and innovative mindset in the areas
of engineering, IT, creative multimedia and business studies through 67 programmes.

MMU has developed several new programmes in the
areas of Management, 3D Modelling and Animation,
Digital Motion Graphic and Applied Communication.
These new programmes are customised and tailored to
suit industry demand.

To empower its innovation in the education industry,
MMU established its Digital Futures Research
Hub to serve as a multi-disciplinary platform that
connects researchers from various disciplines to share
their knowledge, experience and research on issues
regarding the digitalisation of society.

Since its establishment, MMU has sealed countless
agreements, collaborations and MoUs with industry
players, particularly in the field of research and development.
MMU has inked MoU with Huawei, IBM,
Microsoft, ZTE, AIAC, ICAEW, Cyberview Sdn. Bhd,
Agmo Studio, Maruwa, MARDI, and others.

Due to the universityʼs consistent superlative performance
and achievements, MMU has been accorded
the status of a Premier Digital Tech Institution by the
Malaysian government and the Malaysia Digital
Economy Corporation (MDEC) and is now officially
recognised as one of the best places in the country to
pursue computer and technology-related programmes.
