In a world of global commerce and competition, outstanding brands distinguish themselves through collaborative enterprise, creative marketing, and superior products elevating themselves to the prestigious distinction of being named a Superbrand.

Vaillant is a Superbrand.

Few brands dominate the international heating market – and one of them is Vaillant. Over the past 145 years, the family-owned company from the Bergisches Land region has developed into one of the global technology leaders in the industry and brings comfort to the customerʼs home.

The heating sector has an important role to play in the wake of climate change. More than 13,000 Vaillant Group employees worldwide work on energy efficient heating, cooling and ventilation solutions — with a special focus on renewable energies.

Vaillant was founded in 1874 by Johann Vaillant, a copper beater and pump maker. As early as 1894, the founder Johann Vaillant succeeded in creating a groundbreaking innovation with the worldʼs first gas bath furnace.

In 1899, while leafing through the Easter edition of a magazine, Johann Vaillant discovered the illustration of a rabbit in an egg — and immediately decided to make this rabbit his trademark. With the rabbit, Johann Vaillant created an unmistakable brand profile: it is not without reason that 72 percent of all Germans know the Vaillant logo. It has been continuously developed and adapted to the times.

1924 saw the birth of central heating: a boiler heats several radiators simultaneously via a distributor. In 1961, the worldʼs first wall-mounted heater made its debut. This year also saw the founding of the first international subsidiary.

In the nineties, the company played a major role in developing condensing boiler technology and relied on renewable energies with the first solar thermal system. This product segment is still being consistently expanded today.

Since 2006, Vaillant has also been producing its own heat pumps — a technology that is regarded as the growth driver of the industry. They, like all other Vaillant products, meet the highest standards of workmanship, environmental friendliness and design.

In addition to condensing boilers, heat pumps and systems for controlled domestic ventilation, the product portfolio also includes solar thermal and photovoltaic systems as well as intelligent control technology. In combination, this results in systems from a single source in which the individual components are perfectly matched to each other.

The company is just as consistent in exploiting the opportunities and possibilities offered by digitisation: intelligent control solutions for mobile control of the entire heating system with one app are created for end customers.

And for the specialist partners, digital service offers that considerably simplify the work from the first customer acquisition to the last maintenance. The uncompromising focus on the needs and expectations of customers will continue to be the focus in the future.

When the world becomes more complex, you just want to relax at home. To find convincing solutions for this is Vaillantʼs claim.

Superbrands, the international award for sustainable excellence.
